Constructed from billet-machined aircraft-grade aluminum, the housing exceeds MIL-STD-810H drop test standards, surviving drops onto bare concrete from heights well beyond what standard lenses and image intensifiers can endure. Key Features: Durable Design: The RNVG-A is engineered for harsh environments, with a rugged housing that surpasses military-grade drop testing requirements. The goggle includes push-button switches for power and an infrared (IR) illuminator, with a safety guard to prevent accidental activation of the IR feature. Optical Performance: The RNVG night vision features mil-spec objectives with a focus range from 9.8 inches to infinity, as well as mil-spec eyepieces with diopter adjustment from -6 to 2. The interpupillary distance is adjustable from 47mm to over 80mm, allowing for a custom fit. Articulating Design: The goggles feature optical pods that rotate upward, allowing for natural sight when needed. When helmet-mounted and in the stowed position, the pods fold flat against the helmet to minimize neck strain and avoid overhead obstacles. The units automatically turn off when articulated up to preserve battery life. Power and Indicators: The RNVG-A is powered by a CR123 battery or an external battery pack using a 4-pin LEMO connector.
